The Smith River Fest is an annual event held each year in Martinsville & Henry County VA to showcase the Smith River as a recreational destination. This year there will be 3 days of fun leading up to the main event on Labor Day! On Friday, Sept. 4th at 7 PM enjoy popcorn while watching paddling films at the Rives Theater Smith River Film Fest. On Saturday, Sept. 5th take a hike or bike ride along one of Henry County's scenic trails or enjoy a paddle trip on the Smith River. A special release of water from Philpott Dam is tentatively scheduled from 8 AM to noon. Guided trips and rentals will be offered by Smith River Adventure Outfitters and Three Rivers Outfitters.
