Daniel Webster Cheshire |
There's a great photo in our archive of Dan Cheshire with his wife and daughter.
That Dan Cheshire was named for the one pictured above. Daniel Webster Cheshire never married and lived his life in
the Cheshire homeplace on Church St. with his mother and sister. He was a very distinguished looking man - tall, well dressed
with courtly manners. He went with the same woman for 50 years but they never married. He told my dad that was the one
regret of his life. He served in WW1, worked for Bob Adkins Men's
Clothing, was chairman of the local Democratic Party at one point and
was also the head of the local Pythian chapter.
