Beckham School Boys About 1912
This is a picture of the boys of Beckham School, a one room school in operation in southern Henry Counry in the early 1900s. The school stood across the road and slightly north of Beckham Methodist Church. This picture was taken about 1910-1912. Front L to R: Thomas Jefferson Eggleston (1902-1955), Joseph Sanders Hundley (1903-1990), Henry Thomas Winn (1902-1993); Back L to R: Jesse Reamey Winn (1895-1968), George Andrew Hundley (1893-1953), Harvey Edwards Winn (1899-1986), Ramey Davis Hundley (1897-1991), Alonzo Eggleston (born 1899). The Winn boys were sons of Thomas A. Winn (1859-1930) and Elizabeth "Betty" Thomasson Winn (1862-1946). The Hundley boys were sons of Joseph Taylor Hundley (1862-1949) and Mary Etta Hopkins Hundley (1863-1955). Thomas Jefferson Eggleston was the only child of Gay Thomas Eggleston (1867-1934) and Edith Delia Thomasson Eggleston (1875-1954). Jeff Eggleston and the Winn brothers were first cousins.
