Smith River Bridge 1914
This stylish new bridge must have been very impressive when built 98 years ago. It replaced a wooden covered bridge whose supports still stand in the river just upstream. This view is looking towards Martinsville, Virginia's River Hill area and there aren't many houses in view. The building to the right looks like it could be a service station. The one on the left seems to have a sign on top. Can anyone identify the buildings? Thanks to Bill Adams for sending this photo.
