Old Whittle Home In 2012 |
A friend was looking for a photo of the old Gravely home which stood on the southeast corner of Mulberry Road and Starling Avenue in Martinsville, VA. In the process an old 1924 photo turned up. It is not the Gravely home but it is directly across the street and still stands with very little alteration in 2012. It was originally the home of Kennon C. Whittle and it is on the southwest corner of Starling and Market Streets. Kennon Caithness Whittle (12/12/1891-11/10/1967) was born in Martinsville, VA, the son of Stafford G. Whittle.
