| The Bassett Historical Center announces a concert and silent auction to benefit the Center's building campaign. The event will be held at the Bassett Country Club on Friday, May 16th. Some really interesting items have been donated for the silent auction. Tickets are $30/single and $50/couple. Read more details here. |

| Broad Street Christian Church is seeking photos of ministers who have served the church. Here is a list: H.J. Seaman, R.W. VanHook, A.S. Morrison, H.C. Bowen, L.M.Omer, W.H. Book, J.A. Spencer, W.B. Hendershot, Gerald Culberson, E.B. Kemm, George W. Phelps, R.M. Sims, Charles M. Wales, Nelson M. Fox (this is the only photo they actually do have), W. Meredith Norment, Jr., James E. Wilson, oseph G. Grubbs, James A. Dickerson, Robert w. Reater, J. Stephen Perotti. The ministers served from 1887 through today.
